Fellowship

We come together to share in life’s journeys, to celebrate milestones, support and comfort when we can, and be supported and comforted when we need. We work together, we pray together, we laugh together, and we also grow together.

These activities are some of they ways we practice our Ministry of Discipleship & Community.

Community Groups

Community groups are a way for us to stay connected and to gather based on our interests and hobbies. These groups allow us to gather virtually and in-person. While these groups are based on areas of interest, they are meant to be informal gatherings for fun and fellowship outside our typical worship setting. You do not need to be an expert on the group’s theme or topic. The only requirement is coming with an open heart prepared to enjoy yourself and one another. We look forward to seeing you at one of our community groups!

For more information about how to join a community group email Sophia Yacca at [email protected]

Literary Works Group

The FPC Literary Group meets monthly for lively discussions on a range of literary works. If you are interested in joining a bookclub with stimulating conversation, this group is for you.

For more information, contact Liz Hubbell Riggs at 212.247.0355 or [email protected].

St. Joe’s Soup Kitchen

Our partnership with St. Joe’s Soup Kitchen began in December 2019 when they joined us at First Church, operating out of our South Wing. The soup kitchen serves all who are hungry – some are homeless, while others’ income simply doesn’t cover expenses. Regardless, they provide an unconditional welcome to all, serving meals every Saturday at 1:30 p.m. throughout the year. Volunteers are always welcome to help with meal preparation and distribution shifts.

St. Joe’s is an independent 501(c)3 organization and has served the Greenwich Village community for over 40 years. You can find more information on their website here.

Tartan Fair

The fall Yard Sale and the winter Christmas Fair are events for opening our doors to welcome our neighbors while fostering connections both within our church and our community. Volunteers are always welcome! Take part by offering goods or services for the auction, dropping off gently used housewares, books, or children’s toys for the yard sale, or helping to sort and catalogue items. To donate goods and services click here and to volunteer email [email protected].
