Children & Youth

FPC has outstanding ministries for children and youth.
From infancy to adolescence, there is a way for everyone to connect.

Worship for Families with Babies and Toddlers

We have a new schedule for Worship for Families with Babies and Toddlers! We will be having our worship on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month from 9 to 9:30 a.m. This will not only be a time for our children to connect but also a time for our parents to connect with one another. Our first meeting this fall will be September 20th at 9:00 a.m. We look forward to seeing you then!

Children’s Church School (Pre-K – 6th Grade)

The mission of Children’s Church School is to educate a generation of young people about the love of God expressed in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Children learn about the importance of caring for one another just as God cares about us. Children develop their own spirituality and learn about worship through writing their own prayers, lighting our worship candles, and learning about elements of worship including the sacraments. Children learn the stories and teachings of the Bible in a nurturing and creative environment that promotes the core values of the church.

Family Music Ministries

Children’s Church includes a strong musical education component. Half of the Church School Hour is dedicated to engaging our children and youth in making a joyful noise to God. Children of all ages are encouraged to explore and befriend their voices as they gain the skills to be worship leaders in the congregation singing at special events and services throughout the year. Singers learn theologically rich pieces from around the world and familiarize themselves with the great hymns of the church. The program is led by Jon Harris, a gifted singer and music teacher. For more information about the music program, contact Jon Harris at

Youth Programming

We are excited that we will be having regular youth group meetings! We will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 1 p.m. Mark your calendars for this new time. Our first gathering of the fall will be September 27th at 1 p.m. Be ready for a time of fellowship and activities with one another!

In our Reformed tradition, Confirmation is the journey we take to learn more about our faith and connect to the Baptismal vows our parents and caregivers made on our behalf. First Church holds an exciting 12-week course where youth have a safe place to ask questions, explore, and grow in their understanding of faith and spirituality. Confirmation will be offered during the 2019-2020 schoolyear. If you have a youth in grades 7, 8 or 9 that is interested in joining the confirmation journey, please email the Rev. Davis at
