The Annual Fund
Thank you to everyone who made a pledge in the 2011 pledge drive. Your willingness to make your pledge enabled First Church to responsibly create its budget for 2011. And now it is time to look ahead for 2012.
Pledging 100%
Each year the Stewardship Committee introduces a mountain of a number with the optimistic expectations that we will reach our financial goals through your generous pledges. This year we are approaching that mountain from a different vantage point. The mountain is still there, mind you–but in all great feats, cooperation, participation, and unity make the insurmountable, surmountable, and in this case, they make our financial goals more attainable. That’s why our number this year is a simple one: 100%. Yes, 100%. Stewardship’s goal this year is to get full participation from our strong membership–solidarity in making a commitment to each other through pledging to our community. This is also why we have chosen “All Good Gifts” as our slogan. Everyone’s gifts, no matter how modest, are indeed an important spiritual as well as financial commitment to the church. We spend money where we are committed, on the things we value. If we do not pledge our commitment to this community, we leave to chance and whim the importance of our relationship with God and each other. Thankfulness to God points us to the One who gives all the gifts of our lives. Thankfulness to each other recognizes our kinship and fellowship in this community. If we take and do not give, we are missing half the joy of giving and receiving.
We are asking everyone to give on a regular basis this coming year through a pledge promise. It is important that we respond with thankfulness to God and each other. All gifts are good, not only the ones we receive but also the ones we give.
If you have not already done so, now is the time to make a pledge commitment to the Annual Fund to support the church’s 2012 budget. There are several ways to make your pledge:
(a) Download and print a pledge form here, and mail your completed pledge form to The Annual Fund, First Presbyterian Church, 12 West 12th Street, New York, NY 10011;
(b) complete one of the pledge form envelopes in the pews of the sanctuary and return it to the offering plate on Sunday;
(c) send an e-mail to annualfund@fpcnyc.org with the amount of your pledge; or
(d) call the Business Office at (212) 675-6150 and tell Susan Tedesco the amount of your pledge.
If we join together, we will maintain and grow the ministry and mission of First Church.
Thank you,
The Stewardship Committee
