“Creation” by Franz Joseph Haydn
March 26 at 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Haydn’s oratorio Creation, considered by many to be his masterpiece, will be performed by the choir, soloists and orchestra. Haydn tells, in a most delightful and descriptive way, the creation story as found in Genesis. The work begins with music depicting the universe as a void and then follows the creation of earth, day and night, beasts (including insects and worms in particular), and the creation of man and woman. Included are glorious solos, trios, and choruses of praise and wonderment. This work reveals a new and inspired appreciation of God’s love and creation by all who inhabit the earth.
