Message from the Minister of Education

Hello! I am glad you have chosen to explore some of the educational opportunities here at The First Presbyterian Church in the City of New York. The Christian education of our children, youth, and adults is a critical component of our life as a community.

The foundation of our commitment to education is centered on examining the questions that emerge as we live our faith while being open to how others in the community hear and experience faith. By sharing our varied experiences, we can learn how to strengthen our community bonds, and worship together in fullness and diversity.

At First Church, we provide educational opportunities for all age groups. We emphasize Scripture in our programming, in an effort to explore how the witness of the biblical narrative intersects with our own lives of faith. We try to interpret and understand whatever topics we are learning about with a variety of tools and perspectives to appeal to a wide range of learning styles and interests.
