February 1: Boyd Johnson III, FPC member and attorney,
will give an overview of his time as a Federal prosecutor, focusing on a few of the high-profile matters he oversaw as Deputy U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York

February 8: Kyongsoo Noh, FPC member and bond portfolio manager for J. P. Morgan Asset Management, will try to de-mystify the workings of the stock market for us, “the general public.”

February 15: The Rev. Barbara E. Senecal-Davis, FPC’s Minister of Christian Education, will speak on “Reading the Psalms ‘Full of Years’: A Journey through Psalm 121”

February 22: a speaker on Acupuncture

February 29: a speaker on Arthritis

People of all ages are welcome to attend this series, sponsored by The 60+ Circle Committee and held in the Parlor of the Mellin-Macnab Building. A light supper ($5.00 fee) is served at 6:00 p.m. and the program runs from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Sign-up tables will be available after worship on Sundays, October 9 and 16. The Committee asks that those who plan to eat sign up by Tuesday, October 18. [Please be mindful that if you are included in the meal count, the Committee must pay for your meal whether or not you attend.] This can be done at sign-up tables on Sundays, October 9 and October 16, on the clipboard on the kiosk in the lobby of the Mellin-Macnab Building, or by phoning the FPC receptionist.

OCTOBER 2011 schedule

October 5: FPC member Ellen Taylor will report on her recent trip to Indonesia, where she grew up.

October 12: A presentation by FPC member John F. Davis on his career as a production designer and storyboard artist—a career that has included work on 65 major motion pictures.

October 19: FPC member Philippe Lerch will speak about Surgeons of Hope, an organization he serves as Executive Director and whose mission is to build hospitals in developing countries.

October 26: FPC member Nadine Stewart, a faculty member at Fashion Institute of Technology, returns to share her knowledge of fashion history — the time, dress design in the 18th Century.

Please enter through the main door of the sanctuary on Fifth Avenue. If you arrive between noon and 12:15 p.m., please sit and enjoy the organ recital by Dr. Entriken.

Lunch ($5.00 fee) is served at 12:15 p.m. in the Mezzanine of the South Wing. If you plan to eat, sign up by the preceding Monday on the poster in the lobby of the Mellin-Macnab Building or phone the FPC receptionist by then.

The Committee asks that you please be mindful that if you are included in the meal count but do not attend the

Program: The group will hear from representatives of the Center’s Community of Living Traditions, “a residential, multi-faith community dedicated to the study and practice of nonviolence and activism.” The faiths represented are Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.

Theater: On Thursday evening, the group will attend a performance of Sirens at the Penguin Rep Theatre on the Center’s grounds.

Per-person Cost (transportation, room & board, theater ticket):

$81 for double-occupancy room $111 for single-occupancy room
