REGISTRATION BEGINS IN FEBRUARY

Join friends and First Church members of all ages for this opportunity to give back to the church and the community. Projects and site coordinators’ contact information are listed below.

Location: Meet at Church
Time:  9am – 5pm

Who can participate: Ages 16 and older.

Other: 10 person limit.  Tools and supplies will be provided.

  • University Community Social Services Soup Kitchen- Two shifts of five volunteers each are needed. One group will help prepare the meal (8:30am-11:45am), the second group will serve and clean up (11:45am-3:30pm). Volunteers will not meet at the church beforehand!

Location: 137 East 2nd Street between 1st Ave. and Avenue A

Time: 8:30am-11:45am AND 11:45am-3:30pm

Who can participate: All ages

  • The New York Foundling- Paint bedrooms for its mother-and-child program in Chelsea, which provides a place to live, counseling and training for teenage mothers who have spent most of their lives in the foster care system.

Location: All around the church
Time: Coffee and pastries at 8:30am, projects from 9am-noon
Who can participate: Everyone

  • Operation Paperback- Pack up books to send to soldiers abroad. Volunteers will cull Tartan Fair books and can also bring used paperbacks in good condition to donate.
    Other: Please bring boxes for shipping books (large enough to fit 4-5 books or more, as well as paperback books)

  • One Great Hour of Sharing- Join First Kids as they help bake treats for the OGHS bake sale.
